Mocking Picasso for the Peugeot 207 adv campaign
During the marketing meeting for the Peugeot 207 advertising campaign, I presented the concept of light waves glowing up from the car headlight to represent the energy and the speed that young and sporty car wanted to covey. After having received the approval I found myself against the choice: should it be done in CGI or shot for real. For timing and budget reason there was no chance to shoot the car, and CGI resembled the most affordable ad quick solution for everybody. With in mind the magnificent Picasso’s driving lights I challenged myself to do the same. So I found myself in a dark photo studio with a flashlight , mocking one giant of the model art willing to replicate the same fresh and dynamic feeling to be used in a commercial work. Blame on me! But It was fun, holy shit how fut it was! Not simple at all to drown the exacte shapes I presented and promised to client, but thanks to the ability of the photographer Gabriele Inzaghi, the campaign was a success and the cliente very satisfied. The campaign became a format that ran for years and adapted fin different occasions/campaigns as it was perfectly translating the message “Energie Intense”
