During the quarantine due to the virus COVID-19, any artist, photographer, model, make-up artist or stylist have had their work affected. As a consequence of having cancelled shooting sessions, trips, workshops and, most of them lowered their exposure to the world and their peers, KAISER wanted to turn the time in which we stay apart into an occasion to show any work shot indoor.

In the heart of Munich there is a an historical building converted in one of the most sophisticated design hotel I have been, the Stadt Rosenmheim Hotel. I spent a night there when moved in in Munich and two years later I asked half day off from my job at Triumph to organised 4h shooting before to taketh flight back to Brussels the same evening.

I really enjoyed the authenticity and the way this young Chinese student travelling thought Europe was posing in front the camera. Simple styling, sunny day and a room in a Parisian hotel as location were the perfect ingredients for a fresh and sensual outcome i was looking for in these shooting these lingerie session.

Publishing a photographic magazine was an idea I had in mind since the years I was working for the lingerie industry. Just before the pandemic wave would have touched Europe, Kaiser Magazine first issues were ready to be launched. Here the dummy issue I had in my drawer for a long time, here became the fist number of KAISER. Hope you like it!
From Kiev with love

Irina is a young dark-haired girl from Ukraine. She’s tall, almost my size, with Eurasian features, large chins and skin that needs of no foundation, big lips and thick dark eyebrows. When I said let's shoot natural, asking the makeup artist to just do a basic touch, I noticed an expression of disappointment on her face... models love makeup, maybe it gives them the idea of wearing a mask?! Maybe, for this reason, she kept almost all the time the eyes closed while taking her pictures. I didn’t say anything and didn't mind at all, as it gave an intimate feeling to the pictures taken on the sofa of my studio.
